Chapter 18
Let not your heart be troubled
 (John 14:1-5)

John 14:1-5:
Let not your heart be troubled: ye
belive in God belive also in me.

In my Father's house are many
mansions: if it were not so, I would
have told you. I go to prepare a place
for you.

And if I go and prepare a place for
you, I will come again, and recive
you myself; that where I am
there ye may be also.

And whether I go ye know, and the
way ye know.

Thomes saith unto him, "Lord, we
know not whether thou goest; and
how can we know the way.
This John 14:1-4 takes place the last month of the honymoon as the bridegroom leaves his bride's home to go to his home to prepare a place for his bride. He will prepare a room off the side of his Father's house. Before leaving he will bring all the relatives and ten virgins together with the best man (called the friend of the bridegroom). His bride stands in front of him as he says this that is written in verses 1-4.
Jesus Christ comforted Israel and us with these word's which he spoke soon before his death, resurrection and asension to the Father.
During the one year honymoon period the bride and groom would travel back and forth to each of their parent's home and spend about 2 month's at a time at each. So the bride understood when her groom would say, "and whither I go ye know, and the way ye know," However, Thomas didn't quit understand what Jesus was saying, so he said in verse 5, "Lord we know not whether thou goest; and hoe can we know the way."
We, on the other hand, know where Jesus Christ went and we know the way! Because we speak in tongues, we have the confidence and comfort that he will return for us, therefore, our hearts are not troubled!
