Chapter 21
Woman, behold thy son!
 (John 19:26-27)

John 19:16-27:
When Jesus therefor saw his
mother, and the disciple standing by,
whom he loved, he saith unto his
mother, "Woman, behold thy son!"

Then saith he to the disciple, "Behold
thy mother!" And from that hour that
disciple took her unto his own home.
In Aramaic, the word for "woman" is gracious mother, which is said very respectfully. When a man is dying in the East, people are standing around him and he will make his dying declaration. The dying man
will take his son's hand and ask him to promise and take care of a certain member of the family after he is gone. The words of the promise are never, never broken.
This was Jesus's last will and testament to his disciple when he said, "This is your mother just as much as she is to me. You take care of her. and mother, this is your son. I am going , your son is here."
Just as the disciples carried out Jesus's last wish for his mother, we are to carry out his last wish for us!
Go ye into all the world and preach
the gospel. If you love me, keep my
commandments!
Amen
